Announcing THE JEWISH EYE 5786/2026 Calendar of Art
Dear Readers,
I’m pleased to announce the publication of my 11th annual Jewish Eye Calendar of Art. The calendar is now available in my webstore ($20.95 including $3 shipping) and on Amazon ($16.95).
Featured this year are 13 new paintings from my collection of Jewish-themed art. This year’s calendar includes: a sequel to last year’s image of Adam & Eve; a children’s book illustration of Shabbat in Istanbul; an interpretation of the Burning Bush inspired by physics and biochemistry; a vision of universal love; a landscape from the Mount of Olives; an image of the parting of the Red Sea; a new rendering of Isaiah & the Seraph; a painting inspired by a Rodin sculpture; a menorah conceptualized as a tree in winter – and more.
Judaism is a never-ending source of artistic inspiration. Like much ancient spiritual literature, the Torah (Hebrew Bible) is full of stories that are rich in meaning, and may be envisioned in numerous ways. Shaped by the confluence of history and culture, Jewish traditions suggest all kinds of images that speak to our collective human experience. The mingling of modern techniques with themes that stretch back for millennia gives rise to countless new expressions. The pleasure is all mine in creating this themed body of work. I hope you’ll enjoy this year’s collection!
As always, the 13 captions that accompany each image will be expanded upon here in this newsletter, beginning with my weekly post this Saturday evening until Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year. The calendar grids include the Hebrew and secular year of 5786 (September 2025 through September 2026); candle-lighting and havdalah times; weekly Torah portions and Jewish holidays in Hebrew and English; Rosh Chodesh (new moons); and major national holidays.
With its unique images and educational captions (to be shared in my weekly posts), The Jewish Eye makes a great gift for Rosh Hashanah, Chanukah, bar & bat mitzvahs, teachers’ classrooms, or any special occasion. You don’t have to be Jewish to enjoy this calendar! Each year, many people buy it as Christmas gifts, as the images also speak to Christian themes, as well as people everywhere.
You can view all the images in my webstore, here.

Are you interested in writing a review on Amazon? This entails ordering a calendar and writing a review [positive, if sincere] as a verified buyer. Once your review is posted, I will send you an additional free calendar to the recipient of your choice. Reviews are very helpful in raising the calendar in Amazon’s search engine. It does not have to be long.
To all my readers, heartfelt thanks for your continuing interest in and support of my art and writing.
A good week to all!
